Alessia Cara has become the queen of covers, singing everything from Drake’s “Hotline Bling” to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” to Nick Jonas’ “Levels.” Now the 19-year-old Canadian songstress, whose debut album Know-It-All was released last week, gave Justin Bieber’s song “Love Yourself” the cover treatment.
While staring into her laptop, a beanie-clad Alessia pulled out her guitar and performed an acoustic rendition of the Ed Sheeran-penned track off Bieber’s new album Purpose. While she admitted to being shaky on the lyrics, she still nailed it.
“I love this song and I just learned it three seconds ago, so I’m probably gonna get the words wrong as usual, but that’s OK,” she said.
Her album is expected to sell 25-28,000 units in its first week. You can catch her performing her hit single “Here” and maybe a cover or two on her headlining tour beginning next year.
