Jeezy has had a busy day. He’s coming hard with both new music and an extensive personal and political statement. The former is “God,” a new song produced by TM88 and Southside. Over martial, hard-hitting percussion, Jeezy calls himself a “god in the ‘hood,” and brags about his ability to “turn water into wine.”

He also penned an open letter in which he expresses his concerns and frustrations about the crime and police violence occurring in communities across the world. The Atlanta rapper argues that African-American men often turn to crime because of a lack of better opportunities.

He also shared some inspirational words about chasing your dreams. “I’m just a Black man that came from nothing who was never given anything and for that matter, never asked for anything,” he writes. “But I was willing to sacrifice my freedom and my livelihood for my beliefs. And that act alone it what’s makes us GODS.”

Expect more insightful words from Jeezy on his new album, which is set to drop Nov. 13. “This is coming from a place of passion and not ignorance. To Be Continued…Friday, November 13th.”
