#FutureHive is real. Future is celebrating his first-ever No. 1 showing on the Billboard 200 chart with Dirty Sprite 2.
The Atlanta rapper’s third album debuts with 147,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Billboard. This should come as validation for Future fans—many have wondered if the explosive hype around his career this year would translate into real album sales. It’s safe to say that it has.
DS2 was initially announced on July 10 and released only a week later through A-1/Freebandz/Epic Records.
These numbers are more than double his previous sales high, 2014’s Honest, which came in at No. 2 with 53,000.
Elsewhere on the chart, Meek Mill drops three spots to No. 6, selling 39,000 copies of Dreams Worth More Than Money, while last week’s chart-topper, Tyrese’s Black Rose, slides to No. 4 with 47,000 in its second week.
