Tink has been billed as the next big star. Now the Chicago rapper-singer shows and proves in the video for her debut single “Ratchet Commandments.” The 19-year-old, who is signed to Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group/Epic Records, embodies different personas in the ’90s-inspired clip, directed by Dave Meyers, who has helmed videos for Missy Elliott, OutKast, and Rihanna.

She plays a preacher in a pulpit, gives a lesson in ratchetry to her disciples, and shows off some dance moves as an Egyptian goddess. Her mentor Timbaland makes a cameo and there are even some kid dancers, an homage to Missy’s iconic videos.

During Tink’s set at SXSW, Timbaland told the crowd that Aaliyah appeared in his dream to say that Tink is “the one.”

“I was riding home one day, asleep. She spoke to me in my sleep and said she’s the one,” he told the crowd.

Watch Tink take over.
