Sparks were flying when Damon Dash stopped by “The Breakfast Club” on Friday. During the hostile interview, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder went back and forth with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee while discussing what it means to be a boss. But he refused to speak about his former business partner Jay Z.
“No more Jay Z questions,” snapped Dame.
“I don’t want to talk about other men,” he said. “It bugs me out. Why are men so curious about other men? I’m never worried about another man that much.”
When asked about his past with Roc-A-Fella, he responded, “I don’t want to talk about those days. It was 15 years ago… I haven’t seen Jay but two times in 15 years.”
Angela Yee asked him to address reports that he employed shady tactics. “I’ve never not been honorable in business,” said Dame. “Men don’t listen to social media. A real man doesn’t listen to a rumor.”
He also went on the defense when asked if he considers himself a mogul and what it means to be your own boss.
“I’m not a mogul, I’m a tycoon. I sell oil. Don’t disrespect me and say I do everything everybody else does. And I put up my own money. All these so-called moguls you talking about, you name one of them that put their own dough up. You’re only the boss if you put up your own money.”
