The Roots have announced the lineup for its Roots Picnic, and it promises to be legendary. Now in its eighth year, the festival will return to Philadelphia’s Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing on Saturday, May 30.

“This is the 8th annual #RootsPicnic2015. Saturday May 30th. Our gift to Philadelphia. Something new. Something classic. Something gritty. Something smooth. Something surprising. Something familiar. Something LOUD. Something quiet. All stops in between. 3 stages!!!!!!!! Mad mad mad surprises also,” said The Roots’ frontman Questlove.

Last year’s Roots Picnic featured Janelle Monáe, Action Bronson, araabMUZIK, and Snoop Dogg. In previous years, performers have included John Legend, Nas, Kid Cudi, Public Enemy, Santigold, Gnarls Barkley, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 13 at noon. Citi cardmembers will have access to the pre-sale starting March 11 at 10 a.m.
