Frank Ocean

While we wait on a new Frank Ocean album, the Grammy-winning singer quietly released a new song on his Tumblr page in the early hours of Friday morning. On the two-minute track “Memrise,” Ocean strips things all the way down as he sings about a lover.

“I memorized the wayward expressions / Never look down / Never let you see me down / I memorized the way no directions / Can I come over now / I’d like to stay a little while / I memorized your body exposed / I could fuck you all night long / From a memory alone.”

Earlier this year, he fired his management and publicist and hired Three Six Zero, who manages Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, and Kate Nash.

He has reportedly enlisted Hit-Boy and Rodney Jerkins for the follow-up to 2012’s channel ORANGE, along with frequent collaborators Happy Perez, Charlie Gambetta, and Kevin Ristro.

Not much else is known about the album, but director Nabil Elderkin said earlier this year that it “blows the sophomore-album myth out of the water.”
