Oh snap! Fergie and Nicki Minaj are teaming up for one big collaboration.
During an interview with “Ebro in the Morning” on Hot 97, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman revealed that the “Anaconda” rapper will appear on her first solo album in eight years.
“This is the first time I’ve even announced anything,” said Fergie.
When asked if their collaboration will drop before her album in early 2015, she said, “Possibly.”
In addition to Nicki, Fergie has been in the studio with Mike WiLL Made-It, Rae Sremmurd, and will.i.am working on the follow-up to 2006’s The Dutchess. Just this week, she debuted the video for the YG-assisted single “L.A.LOVE (la la)” and will perform the DJ Mustard-produced song at the American Music Awards on November 23.
During her absence, female rappers like Nicki and Iggy Azalea have dominated the landscape, but Fergie doesn’t feel threatened. “Healthy competition, there’s nothing wrong with that,” she said. “That’s normal. That’s just like flirting. It’s a normal human thing.”
Plus, hear her discuss female rap and spit some of Queen Latifah’s “U.N.I.T.Y.”
