Video: Flying Lotus f/ Kendrick Lamar - 'Never Catch Me'

Flying Lotus

Flying Lotus explores life after death in the Hiro Murai-directed video for “Never Catch Me,” which expands on the fantastical dream state imagery found in the video for ““Until the Quiet Comes”.”

The dark visuals start off at a funeral for a young boy and girl, but the sadness soon fades. Their souls rise out of their coffins and start to dance in front of the mourners before playing games in the backyard. With a smile on their faces, they drive off in a hearse as children chase them down the street.

The song will appear on Flying Lotus’ album You’re Dead! (due Oct. 7) featuring Snoop Dogg, Thundercat, and Kendrick.

“It just came about sort of naturally,” Lotus told Rolling Stone of collaborating with K-Dot. “He came through the crib and recorded it and it was great. The funny part is, though, that he wanted to keep that shit for his album. When I first sent him the track, he was trying to convince me to give it to him. Like, ‘Nah, man, I need that!'”
