New Music: Elle Varner - 'See Me Tonight'

Elle Varner

The truth hurts. Elle Varner hides her pain on the second installment in her four-letter word series. Following “Cold Case,” the R&B songstress expresses the sentiment of the word “lies” on the stirring and soulful “See Me Tonight.”

“I don’t want anybody seeing me cry / I don’t want anybody to know,” sings an emotional Elle.

Over the next several weeks, she will debut two more tracks dedicated to a different four-letter word, leading up to the release of her sophomore album 4 Letter Word, which was executive produced by Pop & Oak.

“The title is open to interpretation, hence the symbols used in the campaign – ‘>$@!’ It’s whatever you feel when you experience the album. Does ‘>$@!’ stand for love? Pain? Life? That’s for the listener to decide,” explained Elle. “4 Letter Word has the kind of range that can’t be embodied by a single word or phrase.”

Listen to Elle at her most vulnerable.
