DJ Cassidy

DJ Cassidy has spun at Jay Z and Beyoncé’s wedding and President Obama’s Inaugural Ball, and now he’s bringing R. Kelly, Usher, and Kelly Rowland to the dance floor on his debut album Paradise Royale.

According to Billboard, the 10-song set is slated to drop this spring on Columbia Records and features an all-star lineup including R. Kelly (“Make the World Go Round”), CeeLo Green (“Light Up the Night”), Usher, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, John Legend, Estelle (“When the Stars Come Out”), Passion Pit, Kelly Rowland, and Chromeo.

Robin Thicke and Jessie J appear on the lead single “Calling All Hearts,” for which a video was shot last year.

Other contributors include Chic’s Nile Rodgers, Earth, Wind & Fire’s Verdine White, Phillip Bailey, and Larry Dunn, and Kool & the Gang’s Robert “Kool” Bell, Khalis Bayyan, and George Brown.

Cassidy was inspired by R&B dance music from the late ’70s and early ’80s. “I set out on a mission to bring the greatest and most universal dance music of all time back to the airwaves, back to nightlife, back to the dance floor,” he said.

Following his opening slot on Jay Z and Justin Timberlake’s “Legends of the Summer” tour, Cassidy will join Robin Thicke on his upcoming tour, which kicks off February 21 in Atlanta.
