New Music: Kelis - 'Jerk Ribs'

Kelis commanded the dance floor with her 2010 album Flesh Tone. But the singer returns to a more retro sound on “Call On Me,” produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek. She spreads some sunshine on the feel-good tune, soaring over funky horns and whistles.

UPDATE: Kelis has officially released the song with the new title “Jerk Ribs” and announced the completion of her next album, due in September on Sitek’s Federal Prism label.

“I’m really excited, my album is done. It sounds like love and summer balled up into one!” she tweeted. “You asked when new stuff was coming, I procrastinated 🙂 but no more. It’s here now, I’m happy. You should be too, embrace it! Wepa!”
