Skylar Grey’s debut has been a long time coming, but she’s finally ready to share it with the world. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter has set a release date for Don’t Look Down.
The album will arrive on July 9 via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope, she tells Rolling Stone. Eminem serves as executive producer, with production from Alex Da Kid and J.R. Rotem.
Before the album’s release, she plans to drop four songs and videos, starting with “Final Warning” on April 16.
“I believe in hearing more than one song, because there are so many different sides to the album,” said Skylar. “So we came up with a plan, which is putting the album out July 9, but before that putting out four singles where I do a little video for each one, just to get a lot of music out there.”
In addition to appearing on “C’mon Let Me Ride,” Eminem has helped oversee the project. “I’ve actually been really lucky to have a lot of time with Marshall, giving me advice and feedback on all the songs, helping me pick the songs for the album,” she told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “I think he’s been pretty involved.”
In the meantime, Skylar can be heard on “Love Bullets” off will.i.am’s upcoming album #willpower, due April 23.
