French Montana’s Philadelphia show ended in tragedy after a driver opened fire into a crowd of people gathered around his tour bus, killing one person and leaving another injured.
On Thursday night, the Bad Boy rapper and his entourage arrived at a hotel after he headlined a show at the Theatre of Living Arts. According to the AP, a small crowd formed around the bus, a car pulled up, and someone opened fire.
A 27-year-old man was hit in the abdomen and later pronounced dead, while another male was struck in the shoulder.
Police do not believe that French or his entourage were targeted in the deadly shooting and neither victim appeared to be with the rapper’s crew. One man is reported to have returned fire.
Earlier in the evening, French tweeted a photo of him on the bus with Meek Mill and another of his entourage being questioned by cops. “nobody got time for this shit,” he wrote.
UPDATE: French has addressed the incident on Twitter.
“My bus was located in the vicinity of the incident that took plac last night in Philadelphia. I had a peaceful concert and was not involved,” he wrote. “My deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the familiesof the victims, as well as all of those who were affected.”
