Bruno Mars will join the elite ranks of Mick Jagger and Justin Timberlake when he pulls double duty as host and performer on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.” The coveted gig has the “Locked Out of Heaven” singer feeling like he’s being “thrown into the wolves.”
“I have no idea what to expect. I’m walking in there blank,” Bruno told VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live.” “Whatever they’re gonna get me doing, they’re gonna get me doing.”
Visibly composed, Bruno said he had no material prepared and had yet to meet the rest of the cast. “I don’t really like to think about it ’cause I might get nervous,” he explained.
In addition to playing host, he will perform music off his upcoming album Unorthodox Jukebox, due December 11. “This is me locking myself in the studio and being free recording whatever it is I want to record,” he said. “Just being inspired by all different styles of music and isn’t that what music should be?”
Fans can tune in on October 20 to see Bruno live in action on “SNL.”
