Young Jeezy is not mincing words when it comes to the controversy surrounding him. Fresh off the release of his new song “Get Right,” the Snowman sat down with Power 106’s “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” to clear the air on his backstage brawl with Rick Ross at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards as well as shots fired at him by Gucci Mane.
“So me and [Ross] never really seen each other face to face and I just felt like he spoke, I spoke, and that was basically it,” he said. “But at the end of the day, it’s been going on for a while so I just felt like if it was to be handled, it should have been handled there. We either gon’ get past it or keep moving. So in my words, I just feel like a lot of these cats are actor rappers. And I’m Jeezy—they could never be me. That’s just pretty much that.”
Jeezy added that no one put their hands on him, but he can’t speak for anyone else. He also stated that he feels the rap industry is full of fake thugs (without saying any names) and that’s not something he’s focusing on right now.
Jizzle had harsher words for Gucci Mane, who recently said he had no respect for Jeezy during a radio interview.
“I mean, I feel like everybody know that boy retarded, nobody take him seriously,” he said. “He got an ice cream cone on his face. That being said, I’m not going back. I’m going forward. And then it’s crazy because they’ll call you and want you on songs. And then when you don’t get on a song, that’s what happens.”
Jeezy refused Gucci’s attempts at collaborating and the original diss stemmed from that. Ouch.
