The Weeknd Announces Deal with Universal Republic, Preps 'Trilogy' Album

After building buzz with his mixtapes and touring with Drake, The Weeknd is taking the next step in his career. The Canadian singer-songwriter and his XO label have entered a deal with Universal Republic.

His first release will be Trilogy on November 13. The project will feature mixed and mastered versions of songs off his popular mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence.

Additionally, unreleased material will be included on the album, with “Wicked Games” serving as the first official release.

The Weeknd will launch a fall tour on September 21 in Chicago, with shows scheduled for Hollywood, Miami, Atlanta, New York, and his hometown of Toronto on November 2 and 3.
