Frank Ocean Reveals Lost Nas Song, Makes Beyoncé Cry

Nas and Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean has worked with superstars including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Kanye West, but one collaboration we may never hear is with Nas. The Odd Future crooner reveals a lost record with the hip-hop legend.

In an interview with The New York Times, Ocean says that he and Nas recorded a song called “No Such Thing as White Jesus,” but it was lost due to a technological error. While album deadlines prevented him from recreating it from scratch, he was able to recall some of the lyrics.

“Whatever you do, young king, don’t wind up dead,” he sings. “Young queen, cross your legs/ Put a crown on your head and remove the chains/ ‘Cause even diamond chains are for slaves/ Don’t set foot in no penitentiary/ And don’t taste the poison/ Don’t you bail on your families.”

He also shared how Beyoncé reacted upon hearing “I Miss You,” the ballad he penned for her album 4. “She came in and heard the song, and she shed a tear and recorded it,” he said, “and I wanted to shed a tear.”

Ocean is gearing up for the release of his Def Jam debut Channel Orange on July 17 and will launch a North American tour on July 13.
