B.o.B has a big surprise in store on his upcoming album. The hip-hop superstar has landed America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift for a super-sized collaboration.
staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud has learned that the two have joined forces on a record set to appear on B.o.B’s sophomore album Strange Clouds, due May 1. When pressed for details, the Atlanta MC remained tight-lipped.
“I can’t discredit nor confirm the rumor,” he coyly responded, adding, “Once it’s began, it’s begun and it will take its course.”
B.o.B first met the country crooner when she invited him to perform “Airplanes” with her last fall. “She actually got my number from Hayley [Williams of Paramore] and she hit me up and was like, ‘Hey Bob, I know this is kind of random, but it’s Taylor Swift,'” he said. “So I’m like, ‘What?’ ‘Yeah, I’m coming out to Atlanta and I hear you’re gonna be in Atlanta and I wanna bring you out.'”
While he reluctantly had to turn down the initial offer due a previously booked gig, they ended up rescheduling for a later date in Dallas. “We did it and it was great. She’s got die-hard fans. And she’s really connected to her audience. So to be able to come out and feel that excitement and know that her fans appreciate my music as well was definitely surprising.”
Since sharing the stage at Cowboys Stadium, the two have struck up a friendship. “She’s America’s sweetheart, a real genuine person,” he shared.
Swift, who brought out Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida, T.I., and Usher at other shows during her “Speak Now” tour, knows her hip-hop. “She’s up on her game,” said Bobby Ray. “She knows what to listen to. She’s got good taste in hip-hop music.”
In addition to Swift, Strange Clouds will include contributions from Lil Wayne, André 3000, T.I., Jim Jonsin, Polow Da Don, and more.
