The Weeknd Jumps to Drake's Defense After Common Diss

The Weeknd

The Weeknd is showing his loyalty to Drake. The Canadian singer lashed out at Common after he dissed his friend on a remix to Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin’.”

“That was the worst comeback ive ever heard,” tweeted The Weeknd, who has been announced for this year’s Coachella lineup. “Reminds me of someone’s drunk uncle.”

The harsh words follow Common’s response to Drake’s verse on Ross’ Rich Forever mixtape cut, where he rhymes, “I’m taking too long with this amateur guy/ You ain’t wetting nobody ni**a, you Canada Dry.”

Drake previously went at Common on the original track, rapping, “It bothers me when the gods get to acting like the broads/ Guess every team doesn’t come complete with ni**as like ours.”

Common is not the first to beef with Drizzy. His G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Pusha T also sparred with the Young Money rapper on last year’s fiery freestyle “Don’t Fuck Wit Me.”
