The Living Proof

Mary J. Blige weathers the storm on “The Living Proof,” the theme song from the upcoming film The Help. The survivors’ anthem, produced by The Underdogs, is an understated piano-driven number written about Aibileen (Viola Davis), the main character who plays a maid living in Mississippi during the 1960s. The soundtrack will be available July 26 at Starbucks.

“To speak to so many women with this song, it means a lot to me,” explained the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, whose album My Life II: The Journey Continues is due this September.
