For her new album Femme Fatale, Britney Spears is going outside of her comfort zone. In addition to working with staple producers Max Martin and Dr. Luke, the pop queen put in studio time with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, gushing about feeding off his energy while recording “Big Fat Bass.”

“Oh my God, he’s amazing! He’s so much fun and he’s funny and he’s a charm,” she told KIIS FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “I love him, he’s great. I love the Black Eyed Peas, so when they told me I’d be working with him I was just like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait!'”

Brit, who also debuted her Ke$ha-penned single “Till the World Ends” on the show, explains that his charismatic spirit helped put her in the zone. “He has that type of energy when you’re around him. I definitely thought about that when they told me I was going to work with him,” she said.

Spears’ seventh album Femme Fatale arrives in stores March 29 featuring the hit single “Hold It Against Me.”
