M.I.A. Makes a Frightful Fashion Statement

The freaks come out at night. M.I.A. donned a neon blue wig, pink goggles, sparkly yellow blouse, pink pants, and green shoes at Spike TV’s Scream 2010 taping last night at L.A.’s Greek Theatre. Before delivering a hair-raising performance with a bunch of bodies on the floor, a shrouded Maya hit the carpet in a burka printed with her album artwork, only revealing her eyes. Pop’s provocateur released a new song last week called “Bedroomtothehallwaytotheroadtotheworld.” The Diplo production can be heard on her website, although Diplo didn’t seem too pleased, tweeting, “[M.I.A.] please stop leaking the songs you didnt pay me for…”
