Mariah Carey and Toni Braxton aren’t the only ones calling. In addition to the divas, Trey Songz’ phone has been ringing off the hook with requests from Mary J. Blige and Plies, who also want a piece of the chart-topping R&B singer.
The 24-year-old revealed to staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud that he has collaborated with Mary J. Blige for her new album Stronger. “Man, Mary, Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. I just recorded a record with her entitled ‘Hood Love’ and it’s a great record,” he said. “Johnta Austin wrote it, who actually co-executive produced my album.”
MJB reached out to Trey and he was more than happy to oblige. “She wanted me on the record, which was an honor. I’ve met with her on different occassions and I haven’t spoken with her about the record, but I love it. I love hearing myself on the same record with Mary J. Blige, as any singer would.”
R&B isn’t the only genre where his stock has risen. His labelmate Plies has also enlisted Songz for his new project Goon Affiliated. “We actually just did a crazy record together entitled ‘Here Kitty Kitty,'” he shared. “Be on the lookout for that, produced by Fisha & Price.”
