Whitney Houston

The wait is over. Whitney Houston’s new album finally has a release date.

According to a press release from Arista Records on Thursday (June 4), Houston will make her official comeback with her seventh studio album, set for a worldwide release on Sept. 1. This is her first studio album in six years.

She is working with R. Kelly, Diane Warren (“I Didn’t Know My Own Strength”), David Foster, Swizz Beatz, and Akon, among others.

Swizz Beatz revealed to staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud that he has recorded an uptempo song called “Mill Dollar Baby” with the diva. “I got a big comeback record for her,” he said. “She’s comin’ back crazy!”

Akon also logged studio time with the 45-year-old superstar. “I did two songs with her. As you can see, after that song leaked, they pulled that back,” Akon told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud of the leaked track “Like I Never Left.” “That was officially supposed to be a single for her as well.”

Houston has sold over 170 million albums, singles, and videos worldwide. She is cited by the Guinness Book of World Records as music’s “most awarded female artist of all time,” with a total of 411 awards, including six Grammys, two Emmys, 23 American Music Awards, and 16 Billboard Music Awards.
