Kelly Rowland Just Wants to Dance

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland has put rhythm and blues to the wayside for a moment to focus on another genre—dance music.

The 28-year-old songstress has teamed up with dance hitmaker David Guetta for his new single, “When Love Takes Over.” The record, which showcases a powerfully uplifting beat supporting Kelly’s emotive vocals, is a perfect summer gem. Fans first got wind of the collaboration last month when Guetta premiered “When Love Takes Over” at Miami’s Winter Music Conference. The single will be released physically on June 29.

Last month, Rowland amicably parted ways with her longtime record label, Columbia Records. Though she is no longer signed to the company as a solo artist, she still remains on the roster under the Destiny’s Child catalog.

Besides her new music endeavor, Kelly will co-host Bravo TV’s newest reality project, “The Fashion Show.” Alongside acclaimed designer Isaac Mizrahi, she’ll choose one winner from 15 professional designers who will compete for a chance to have their designs sold in the retail market and win a $125,000 prize. The show premieres on Thursday, May 7, at 10 p.m.
