We previously reported that Asher Roth saved the day when he subdued a man claiming he had a bomb on a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles on Wednesday. It appears that it wasn’t so much Asher, but his bassist, Chris Llewellyn, that really came to the rescue.

“I thought this guy was going to open the door. I was thinking, ‘I’m not going to go down with the plane,'” Llewellyn, 26, told the Los Angeles Times in a story than ran on the newspaper’s front page Thursday.

“Asher Roth bassist, Chris Lewellyn, was the real deal tackler of the person crying bomb on Flight 110 yesterday, and [his crew] and Asher want to give him his full hero due,” said the rapper’s publicist via e-mail. “Asher is thankful and proud of Chris’ bravery and hopes Delta gives him free flights for life!”
