French Montana is gearing up for a big year, starting with the Grammys. The Coke Boy is up for his first award tonight thanks to his work on Kanye West’s “All Day.”
“We’re trying to bring a Grammy back to the ‘hood,” French told Rap-Up TV at Power 106’s Valentine’s Crush concert on Friday (Feb. 12). “It feels great, man. It’s always a great thing to prosper, to progress to another level. Where I come from, you don’t even think about the Grammys. I was just thinking about my first mixtape.”
But his work with Kanye isn’t finished. The two have also collaborated on a yet-to-be-unleashed banger titled “Walk On By,” which also features a certain Queensbridge icon.
“That record is me, Kanye, and Nas,” French explained. “We should be releasing that pretty soon.”
In fact, that track is likely to land on French’s upcoming mixtape Wave Gods, which is set to premiere Friday (Feb. 19) on DJ Khaled’s We the Best Radio.
“It’s hosted by Max B,” Montana explained. “Everybody’s on there. But [it’s] mostly about the wave.”

This year continues to bring highlights for French fans. That’s because his long-awaited sophomore album Mac & Cheese 4 is set to follow Wave Gods, and a release is imminent.
“It’s done,” French said. “We’re just waiting for the date now.”
