The Weeknd has bolstered his XO roster with Black Atlass, a mysterious R&B crooner from Montreal, according to various reports.
No formal announcement has been made, but the singer, who previously starred in the video for The Weeknd’s “Secrets,” just released his newest single “My Life” under XO Records/Republic, as per HipHop-N-More.
“My Life” features the atmospheric R&B and soul that Abel Tesfaye has been celebrated for in the past. “This is my life,” sings Atlass. “Living on the edge of a dream / Living on the other side of the screen.”
Black also unleashed an accompanying video for the single, which features a lingerie-clad model and a drive around Los Angeles. The vintage-themed clip also finds the model-turned-crooner singing in an empty theater, laying in bed, and getting scarred up and bloody.
Also known as Alex Fleming, the multifaceted singer has appeared as a model in The Weeknd’s Puma XO ads in the past. His social media accounts also rep “XO” in the bio. Launched in 2012, The Weeknd’s imprint has featured a diverse cast of artists, including Belly and NAV.
