That Rihanna reign won’t let up.
Rihanna has earned her 50th top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to N.E.R.D’s “Lemon,” which catapults from No. 50 to No. 40. Only Taylor Swift has more top 40 entries (55), among women.
Overall, Bad Gal is high on the all-time list, standing behind Elvis Presley (80), Lil Wayne (71), Drake (67), Elton John (55), Taylor (55), the cast of “Glee” (51), and she is tied with The Beatles (50). RiRi also has 31 Hot 100 top 10s, trailing Madonna (38) and The Beatles (34), and 14 Hot 100 No. 1s, bested only by The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (18).
Some of “Lemon’s” recent success can be attributed to Serena Williams, who danced to the No_One Ever Really Dies single in a viral video for Vogue.
This weekend, Rihanna is set to join DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the Grammys, where the trio will perform “Wild Thoughts.”
Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Camila Cabello earns her first No. 1 with the Young Thug-assisted “Havana.” Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “rockstar” jumps to No. 3, Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s “Finesse” drops to No. 4, and G-Eazy’s Cardi and A$AP Rocky-assisted “No Limit” is at No. 7. Migos’ Bacardi and Nicki Minaj collab “MotorSport” rounds out the top 10.
