Before taking the stage on “SNL,” Eminem breaks down his “Walk On Water” collaboration with Beyoncé. Beaming about the song during an interview with Shade45, Slim Shady explained how the Rick Rubin and Skylar Gray-produced track came to fruition.

“First of all, Beyoncé is amazing,” he gushed. “It’s been on my wish list for a long time, but I never really had a song that I felt would be right to present to her. I was kind of waiting and then me and Paul kicked the idea around after I finished it. Based off what it was about, I felt like she probably could relate to this, too.”

He went on to praise the singer for being flawless. “Everything she does is so perfect,” he said. “But, the pressures behind that, for her to do it so perfect, I felt like she could probably relate to that. I told her, ‘I’ve never seen you make a mistake before, ever, performance wise, everything.’ Every song she puts out, every album, it’s so calculated and precise. Everything’s always so perfect.”

Elsewhere, Em revealed that he was “extremely angry” about President Donald Trump when he made “The Storm” freestyle and that he remains upset with the administration. “I can’t stand that motherfucker,” he said. When the conversation turned to hip-hop today, Slim Shady praised its evolution, claimed he can “certainly appreciate it” and said that he tries to “stay up on everything that’s out.” In recent days, Rubin revealed that Em was “frustrated” by mumble rap’s popularity.

While he did not disclose a release date for his album Revival, which was rumored to drop today, Marshall did reveal that it was executive produced by Rick Rubin and that Dr. Dre mixed a few songs (via HipHop-N-More).

Em is expected to perform “Walk On Water” and debut new material on “SNL” tomorrow (Nov. 18).
