Lil Wayne to Drop 'Dedication 6' This Month, Says His Manager

  /  11.15.2017

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V is still stuck in legal limbo, but that won’t stop Weezy from dropping new music. According to his manager, Cortez Bryant, new material is on the way in the form of Dedication 6.

Taking to Instagram Live, Bryant was asked about the anxiously-awaited mixtape. “Maybe D6 in November,” he said. “Not December. That’s too long.”

Dedication 6 has been teased for quite some time. In April of last year, Weezy confirmed the project would be another collaborative effort with DJ Drama.

“I’ve also been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape and we just didn’t have a good name for it yet,” he said. “But it might as well just be a Dedication.”

In January, he posted a photo that also hinted at three projects—Tha Carter V, Funeral, and Dedication 6.

The original Dedication arrived in 2005, followed by a sequel the next year, and a third installment in 2008. Dedication 4 and 5 arrived in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Wayne, who has new music with Kodak Black on the way, revealed how his $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money is affecting his work output. “Of course you’re going to see Tha Carter V,” he said. “I just don’t want to put it out the wrong way. Honestly, I can do what I want at any time. The fans deserve it to be right and that’s how it’s gonna be. I’ma make sure it’s right. I can drop whatever I want to drop. That’s why I keep dropping whatever I want to drop. But I’m not gonna give them Carter V.”

Carter V is done,” he added. “It’s on the shelf, just ready to drop…Carter V is ready to be listened to. It’s just gotta be listened to the right way and like I said, I’m not gonna give it to them wrong.”
