Eazy season is upon us. G-Eazy has unleashed the cover art and trailer for his fifth studio album, The Beautiful & Damned.
The minute-long trailer for the accompanying short film finds Gerald in a crumbling relationship, arguing about time and work. In between romantic fallouts, scenes of a rockstar lifestyle — fast cars, money showers, blood, and beautiful women — flash across the screen. The clip is soundtracked by Eazy and Halsey’s “Him & I” collaboration, which was previewed back in August.
Featuring A$AP Rocky, Halsey, E-40, Cardi B, Kehlani, Charlie Puth, and Anna of the North, The Beautiful & Damned is due everywhere on Dec. 15. Meanwhile, the Bobby Bruderle-directed film, which Gerald co-wrote with Bruderle, will be an Apple Music exclusive via Sony/RCA.
G-Eazy appears bloodied and beat up in the artwork for The Beautiful & Damned. Part of his face is in the shadows, while he’s wearing his trademark black leather jacket over a white T-shirt. The project is available for pre-order now, with fan bundles available through his website.
Young Gerald recently opened up about the follow-up to 2015’s When It’s Dark Out, whose title was inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel of the same name. “It’s about two people in love in the ’20s, when everybody was drinking too much, partying, and living this crazy lifestyle,” he said. “They have this fantasy of living this over-the-top life, but realizing how hard it is to sustain in this crazy world they lived in. The ’30s were about to hit, but they didn’t know, with the Great Depression, everything was gonna be gone.”
