Logic is adding another plaque to his wall.
Less than a month after going platinum with “1-800-273-8255,” the rapper’s suicide prevention anthem has been certified 2x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The Alessia Cara and Khalid-assisted song, which originally went gold back in July, has become Logic’s highest-charting single to date. Currently, it’s in its peak position at No. 3 on the Hot 100.
“1-800-273-8255” has global appeal, as well. Recently, Juanes provided a Spanish language remix, which focuses on overcoming depression and suicidal thoughts. The song title doubles as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Taking to Twitter, Logic celebrated his latest RIAA achievement. “2x Platinum,” he wrote. “Thank You!”
“1-800-273-8255” is a single off Logic’s album, Everybody, which earned a gold certification earlier this month.
Up next, the Maryland rapper is taking “Everybody’s Tour” across the pond for a series of dates around Europe and the United Kingdom. That leg kicks off Oct. 19 in Stockholm.
