Suge Knight, the incarcerated former leader of Death Row Records, says he believes that Tupac Shakur might still be alive.
The controversial figure, who was in the same car that Tupac was fatally shot inside, revealed this information while speaking with rap legend Ice-T and veteran journalist Soledad O’Brien for their Fox special “Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?”
“When I left that hospital [where Shakur was taken after being shot], me and ‘Pac was laughing and joking,” said Knight in a clip released by TMZ. “I don’t see how somebody can turn from doing well to doing bad.”
When asked if he believes that Shakur might still be alive, Knight added: “I’m gonna tell you that with ‘Pac, you never know.”
The interview is part of the “Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?” special, which is set to air Sunday (Sept. 24) on Fox. Throughout the story, O’Brien and Ice-T interview various people about the still unsolved murders of Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace and 2Pac.
Shakur died Sept. 13, 1996 after being shot in Las Vegas, while Wallace died March 9, 1997 after being shot in Los Angeles. Despite various theories and investigations, neither murder has been solved.
