After being inspired by Kodak Black to make “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” Cardi B enlists her muse for the remix to the No. 2 song in the country.
The revamp only features one verse from Project Baby, while Cardi handles the original hook. “Cardi B brought the beat, told me re-rock the heat,” raps Kodak. “Try me, I’ll do ‘The Race’ like I’m Tay-K / No flockin’ over here, lil’ buddy / All lil’ zombies over here, lil’ buddy.”
As its name suggests, “Bodak Yellow” was inspired by Kodak Black. “I named it ‘Bodak Yellow’ because the flow of the song, it will remind you of a [2015] song that Kodak Black did called ‘No Flockin,'” Cardi told MTV News this year. “I call it ‘Bodak Yellow’ because my name starts with a B…and I’m a yellow bitch.”
“At first, I didn’t really like Cardi B,” Kodak said in an Instagram Live session. “But then I heard that ‘Bodak Yellow.’ I like the song. I heard how she came with my lil’ flow.”
Kodak reiterates his approval on the new remix. “You know why I fuck with Cardi B?” he asks during the intro. “They be thinking both of us crazy and shit.”
Prior to this, Bardi released a “Latin Trap Mix” featuring Messiah. Listen to Kodak Black’s remix of “Bodak Yellow” below.
