Bang bang! After Luke Skywalkin’ on his haters on the Travis Scott-assisted “Sky Walker,” Miguel unleashes “Shockandawe,” a politically-charged banger that offers global commentary over genre-bending grooves.

“See, I got a destiny,” he sings. “Come up off that, give it to me / Oorah!” Following the Marines battle cry, the R&B crooner adds: “United Nations keep watchin’ / I’ll play the hero / Media keep talkin’ / But who wanna stop me?”

Miguel has more new music on the way. In July, he revealed as much during an interview with Snoop Dogg’s “GGN.” “Right now, [I’m] just wrapping up a project,” he said. “I feel like I’ve been creating three projects simultaneously. So the one that’s the most complete is kind of what I’m wrapping up now.”

Like “Sky Walker,” “Shockandawe” follows Miguel’s recent work with DJ Premier, Dua Lipa, and RL Grime. The song is expected to appear on Miguel’s fourth album, the follow-up to 2015’s Wildheart.
