As K. Michelle gears up to release her fourth album, she unleashes two new singles, “Birthday” and “Either Way.”
The latter finds her teaming up with Chris Brown for an unapologetic collaboration about being “young and rich.” The VH1 reality star delivers some cocky bars aimed at her haters, before Breezy boasts about his girl who has a “booty like K. Michelle.”
“Either way I’m gon’ be straight, damn my life is great,” they sing on the hook. “Sleepin’ good at night / In the morning, eatin’ eggs and steak.”
On the seductive “Birthday,” the Memphis songstress caters to her man. After rolling an L and pouring a drink, K gets right. “Come on eat this cake, it’s your birthday,” she sings.
K. Michelle is currently putting the finishing touches on The People I Used to Know, her first album since last year’s More Issues Than Vogue.
“@thepeopleiusedtoknow an album of the true stories that have shaped me and made me tough,” she explained. “A very reflective look but shockingly positive commentary.”
