Fifth Harmony & Gucci Mane Perform 'Down' at MTV VMAs

  /  08.27.2017

After nabbing the Moon Person for Best Pop Video, Fifth Harmony and Gucci Mane brought the house “Down” at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Wopster and his fiancée Keyshia Ka’oir joined Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani Kordei for the show-stopping number, which also included a controversial intro for “Angel.”

During the opening portion of the performance, the quartet started with five members. As soon as the set began, however, the fifth fell off the stage, never to return. This was quickly seen as a jab at former Fifth Harmony star, Camila Cabello, who abruptly left the group last year.

In the middle of all of this, 5H tipped their hats to hip-hop once again. This time, they did so by using a portion of C-Murder’s classic “Down for My Ni**as” beat as part of their choreography.

“Down” has been quite a collaboration for Gucci and Fifth harmony. In July, Guwop even joked that he was joining the group after Cabello’s departure. “Meet the newest member of @FifthHarmony,” he wrote. “😂.”

5H is coming off the release of their self-titled third album, which dropped on Friday (Aug. 25). They are also fresh off the release of the steamy video for their newest single, “He Like That.”
