After years under Def Jam/Visionary, Logic has launched his own label, Elysium.
Taking to YouTube, the Maryland MC confirmed the news. “Elysium was created mainly because I don’t trust anybody else with the precious cargo that is my family,” he said. “I wanted to create a place where they can feel free and literally do whatever they want because this is so much more than just music. It really is a family.”
Elysium’s roster currently includes Damian Lemar Hudson, John Lindahl, and Logic’s wife, Jessica Andrea, who is set to release her debut EP this summer.
But the label’s first release will come from Big Lenbo, an artist who’s worked closely with Logic for years. Three of his songs — “Stupid,” “Ice Cold” (featuring Logic), and “Protect Your Neck (Remix)” — are out now, along with a four-minute introductory video titled “Introducing: Big Lenbo.” Lenny’s debut, Strange Days, is due July 3.
Logic is fresh off the release of Everybody, his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Up next, he is set to embark on the “Everybody’s Tour” with Joey Bada$$ and Big Lenbo, starting July 7 in Salt Lake City.
