New Music: Pharrell - 'Yellow Light'

  /  06.08.2017

Pharrell teams up with the Minions once again.

Following the massive success of 2013’s “Happy,” Skateboard P serves up “Yellow Light” off the upcoming Despicable Me 3 soundtrack. Like “Happy,” it’s a Skateboard P solo cut with an uptempo bounce.

“Congratulations!” he sings. “Yellow light shining down / Whoopty-doo / Yellow light shining down / You control the world now / Yellow light shining down / Look at you!”

A video game-like visual for “Yellow Light” is scheduled to drop tomorrow (June 9), but Pharrell has released a fun teaser in the meantime.

Pharrell’s work on “Happy” helped Despicable Me 2 become a box office smash in 2013 and it also gave him his first No. 1 on the Hot 100 as a lead solo artist.

Now, Skateboard P is scoring Despicable Me 3 and handling the soundtrack, which features Eminem’s 2010 Recovery cut “So Bad” in the trailer.

Featuring the voices of Steve Carell, Trey Parker, Kristen Wiig, and Miranda Cosgrove, Despicable Me 3 is due in theaters June 30.
