Normani Kordei takes on Rihanna.
The Fifth Harmony star teamed up with her “Dancing with the Stars” partner Val Chmerkovskiy for a stunning Viennese Waltz to RiRi’s “Desperado” during Monday’s semifinals.
Backed by the ANTI favorite, Normani and Val wowed audiences and judges with a Sin City-inspired performance, blending black, white, and red effects for their rain-filled set.

The rousing number was enough to get props from the show’s notoriously critical judge Len Goodman, who praised Kordei and Chmerkovskiy for their efforts. “You did exactly what I asked for,” he exclaimed. “Well done, the pair of you.”
After earning a 36 out of 40 for their “Desperado” performance, Normani and Val garnered a perfect score with a jazz ode to New Orleans over Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.”

With these two performances, Kordei and Chmerkovskiy became finalists for the show’s famed Mirrorball trophy. Meanwhile, Olympian Simone Biles and her partner Sasha Farber were shockingly eliminated after two perfect sets.
Next week, Normani and Val are set to face off against fellow finalists, NFL star Rashad Jennings and his partner Emma Slater, as well as MLB catcher David Ross and his partner Lindsay Arnold.
