Bryson Tiller Announces New Album 'True to Self,' Drops 2 New Singles

  /  05.11.2017

Bryson Tiller knows how to make waves. Not only did the R&B crooner just announce his Trapsoul follow-up, True to Self, but he also unleashed three new songs.

One of those tracks, “Honey,” was released earlier today. Meanwhile, the other two arrived shortly after his pre-order link went out.

The first of those is the lead single, “Somethin Tells Me,” an R&B track about pending heartbreak and a possible reconciliation. “Somethin’ tells me we ain’t gonna last, baby,” he sings. But later, Pen Affleck puts intuition aside and breaks it down for his shorty over T-Minus’ production: “You always know what I’m about to say. Can we make it work, huh? Let’s make it work. I know we can make it work.”

Following “Somethin Tells Me” is the Young Thug-assisted “Get Mine,” which features an entirely different vibe. This one finds Pen Griffey in attack mode, rhyming about his haters. “I’ll cop any gun and kill for my daughter,” he raps. “I’ll go ‘Rambo’ for real for my daughter / 2015, I made 2 mill for my daughter / Now, these pussy ass ni**as wanna steal from my daughter.” Keeping that energy going, Thugger adds: “Play with me, I’ll have a massacre in every city.”

Tiller’s sophomore album True to Self is due June 23.
