Jennifer Hudson is back with “Remember Me,” the lead single from her upcoming Epic Records debut.
The Oscar and Grammy winner flexes her powerful pipes on the rousing record, which she co-wrote with Jamie Hartman, who penned Rag’n’Bone Man’s No. 1 hit “Human.”
“I know you remember me in those moments before you sleep / Promise me that it doesn’t make your heart beat,” sings JHUD before being joined by a gospel choir.
Hudson, who released an album called I Remember Me in 2011, has been working with L.A. Reid and executive producer Clive Davis on her fourth album, her first for Epic Records. She will perform the song for the first time on Sunday (March 5) on “The Voice UK,” where she is currently serving as a coach.
“As an artist, when I discover music that I connect with deeply, it brings me a sense of excitement that I can’t put into words,” said Hudson. “That’s how I feel about ‘Remember Me.’ Everything about it is special — from co-writing it with Jamie, to the recording process, to how it made me feel along the way. I just can’t wait to share it with the world.”
