The Kairi Chanel rapper joins forces with his fellow Harlem native on “Paper Chasin,” a money-making new single off Def Jam’s Direct Deposit Vol. 2 compilation.
Surrounded by his trademark ad-libs, cash machine sounds, and a head-knocking beat, the Trap Lord kicks things off. “All this paper chasin’,” he raps. “I’m like a bad doctor, I ain’t got no patience / I’m gon’ work for months, I won’t take vacation.”
East comes through with his own boasts about cash while bigging up his A$AP Mob collaborator. “Ferg and your boy on a paper chase,” he raps. “All of these diamonds, they look like a lake / And I’m mixing Margiela with Bathing Ape / I put codeine in the Gatorade.”
Direct Deposit Vol. 2 also features the Iggy Azalea and Lil Uzi Vert collaboration “Can’t Lose” as well as 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, and Quavo’s “Good Drank.” Additionally, the compilation boasts appearances from YG, 21 Savage, Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, Jeremih, Vince Staples, August Alsina, and more.
