Perhaps there will be envelopes to open after all for Drake, who leads the iHeartRadio Music Awards nominees this year with 12, including a nod for Male Artist of the Year.
Announced today, the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards are set to go down on Sunday, March 5 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. where the 6 God is up for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “One Dance” featuring Wizkid and Kyla.
Other nominees for Best Hip-Hop Artist include Desiigner, DJ Khaled, Future, and J. Cole. In the Song of the Year category, Drake will face off against Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” Sia and Sean Paul’s “Cheap Thrills,” The Chainsmokers and Halsey’s “Closer,” and twenty one pilots’ “Stressed Out.”
In the R&B Artist of the Year category, the nominees include Beyoncé, Bryson Tiller, Rihanna, The Weeknd, and Usher. Tiller’s “Exchange,” RiRi’s “Needed Me,” Usher’s “No Limit,” Bey’s “Sorry,” and Bad Gal’s Drizzy collab “Work” are all up for R&B Song of the Year.
Rising stars will also get a chance to shine. Chance the Rapper, Desiigner, D.R.A.M., Kent Jones, and Kevin Gates score Best New Hip-Hop Artist nods, while Belly, Bryson Tiller, Dreezy, Kayla Brianna, and Ro James will battle it out for Best New R&B Artist.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards will broadcast live on TBS, TNT, and truTV at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Fans can also catch the show via iHeartMedia stations and on the iHeartRadio app.
