Listen to Justine Skye's New EP '8 Ounces'

  /  12.22.2016

Justine Skye delivers a Christmas present for fans with the release of her 8 Ounces EP.

The project’s title is actually at the heart of the 9-track concept. “Eight ounces is the average weight of the female heart,” Justine told Genius. “Now that I’m 21, I’m meeting different people from different parts of the world and I’m figuring out myself more and figuring out guys more. This whole EP is my diary of situations that I’ve gone through since my last project.”

The-Dream was instrumental in the recording process, acting as a writer and confidant. He also produced some of the material along with Tricky Stewart. “The-Dream was like my diary,” she explained. “I would sit there and talk his ear off about all my guy situations; he would just turn my stories into songs.”

Wale was also part of this project, appearing as a guest on “Fun.” Their work together comes on the heels of his shoutout to her on “Black Is Gold.”

Stream 8 Ounces, which follows last year’s Emotionally Unavailable, below.
