Lil Uzi Vert Hits the Studio with Kanye West
It’s been a breakout year for Lil Uzi Vert. The Philly rapper has become one of 2016’s most-buzzed-about newcomers, and 2017 is looking even brighter.
After collaborating with the likes of Gucci Mane and Wiz Khalifa, Uzi revealed that he has been in the lab with Kanye West.
“I’ve been working with Kanye,” he told DJ Whoo Kid on “The Whoolywood Shuffle.”
Uzi soaked up knowledge from the G.O.O.D. Music leader during their studio sessions. “He drop gems on you, he don’t even know,” he said. “He’s just talking and he dropping gems. He’s very intelligent.”
Uzi credits Kanye for shaping his sound. “I’m not gonna say I switched my style as of now, but of course Kanye helped my style in general. He already helped my style from the beginning.”
In between recording with Kanye, the “Money Longer” MC continues to work on his next project, Luv Is Rage 2, which follows last year’s Luv Is Rage.
