New Music: John Legend feat. Miguel - 'Overload'

  /  12.02.2016

Earlier today, John Legend returned with his fifth studio album Darkness and Light and fans quickly uncovered one of the standouts, the Miguel-assisted “Overload.”

Enveloped by warm acoustic guitar strings and soothing, luscious horns, Legend ponders public displays of affection. “Don’t we always make a show of love?” he asks. “Life on overload, must we make a spectacle of love?”

Addressing social media’s role in relationships, Miguel lends some advice: “Let that cell phone ring / Let that bluebird sing / Let that message say ‘unread.'”

To celebrate the release, Legend performed the album’s lead single “Love Me Now” on “Good Morning America.”

Fans in attendance definitely had love on their minds. Standing inside and outside of the studio, “GMA” viewers held up signs with messages for loved ones, including “I Said Yes! We’re engaged,” “Cuddle with Me Now,” and “College Roommates: 47 Years Later.”
