New Music: The Weeknd - 'False Alarm'

  /  09.29.2016

This is no “False Alarm.” The Weeknd’s second Starboy single is out following the title track and its mysterious music video.

Taking cues from dance punk, pop, and R&B, “False Alarm” finds the Canadian crooner reflecting on and wailing about a beautiful woman who’s never going to settle down.

“She loves everybody,” he sings. “Can’t you tell by the signs? / She loves everybody /
She gets off all the time / It’s a dark philosophy / And it haunts her constantly / It’s a false alarm to me / She’s a false alarm.”

The infectious track arrives just in time for Abel’s performance on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, where he’s expected to perform “Starboy” and “False Alarm.”

His album Starboy is due Nov. 25. Listen to “False Alarm” below.
